Awakening of Hoppeditz in Dusseldorf

With the rising again of the roguish Hoppeditz, the bells chime the coming of the 5th season, to call out all the thousands of fools (Jesters) and like-minded people to assemble at the front of City Hall.

The countdown begins……

Nine months of deprivation, the Carnival-disciples are showing withdrawal-symptoms, but then it is time again, thanks to Hoppeditz – “He is our Saviour!” Since the 11th of the 11th month at the exact time of 11 past 11am the Duesseldorfer citizens and its visitors have permission to do what they love to do…

Celebrate Carnival until you need to call the doctor.

Directly after the official opening speech, the Duesseldorfer carnival jesters demonstrate why the old city district became the name “The longest bar in the world”. You won’t find any bar which has not got the Carnival spirit and music streaming out of its doors.
