Carnival Sunday in Duesseldorf in Koenigsallee
Family groups, friends, sport, bowling and other clubs are all represented and bring their keg of beer transported in baby prams or any fantasy transport method on wheels. From year to year this opportunity of self-portrayal and the attendance in Koenigsalee has grown enormously.
The familiar colourful street festival begins at approximately 11 am, attracts groups of all descriptions and sizes, you would think they are all trying to outdo the other with their measure of fantasy to be seen in the presentation of their different costumes, strolling and weaving their way through the comical masses. Choose a carnival musical group and then search for a suitable position; you will quickly make friends nearby who will bring you into the rhythm of carnival.
Snack bars, costumes and accessories shops and of course beer stands are stretched the complete length of the Kale.
The people bring their music, beer and spirits in hand drawn trolleys. Friendly comic figures, men from Mars, beetles, jokers, fools and other crazy people turn this chic glamorous shopping mile into a wavy sea of fun-loving people ready to participate in the once a year carnival party. All party people are in the mood to kiss, sing and dance – Watch out, it’s contagious. Don’t be surprised to see the carnival dancing girls dancing amongst the crowds.

Start at the beginning of Koenigsalle, go to the centre of the barricaded street and then stroll onto the end of Koenigsalle.
