Homosexual Race in Duesseldorf at the Koenigsalle

The Homosexual Race (Tuntenlauf or Tuntenrennen) is now accepted as one of the highlights of the Duesseldorf Carnival and begins around 6pm on Carnival Saturday. Men dressed as women parade down the normally chic and luxurious shopping street, participate in a hilarious race and have to conquer many obstacles before they reach their goal. In spite of the wind and weather it is expected that the participants are scantily dressed.

Animated, cheeky and bawdy comments
Originating in Teneriff, not in Cologne is the most unusual spectacular event of the Duesseldorf Carnival. The race of the century or not, the winner will be judged by the highest heels, flashiest sexy costume and who delivers the most entertaining performance.
Our Moderators responsible for the not to be repeated bawdy comments are “Kathy the Delicious” and “Yvonne the High-kicker”, two of our “lady” competitors.

“We want to see more hussies……..” and such like comments

The sugar sweet „Kathy the Delicious“
To these tones the candidates scamper over the obstacles on the track, throw kisses to the crowds, lift their skirts to spur the crowds to a level of ecstatic rapture and with great grace, they accept the homage of the Carnival folk.

In the middle of the race, they are called back to guess the name of a song which the crowd is humming, followed by the assignment to distribute confectionary among the folk. Meanwhile the crowds call “We want to see more hussies! We want to see more hussies!”

After waiting a half an hour, finally the results were announced! As a grand finale, following the competition, the champion Peggy Nylon will be presented at the Homosexual Ball in the Carnival Party tent at the Bergischen Loewen to be admired by his/her fans.
